Nik Bartko - EVIL Car Club - S2. Ep22
EVIL - Every Vehicle Is Low
A huge part of American car culture is the gathering of like minded individuals that form a club that expresses their automotive identity. For Nik Bartko and two other friends, the modern day car club culture didn’t mesh with their personality and lifestyle. The monthly meetings, monetary dues and rules to get in were not a reflection of real life and the friendship that they built through the car scene. Between the three of them they decided to ride alone and start the EVIL Car Club. Why EVIL, well it stands for Every Vehicle Is Low, and the now 60ish member cars represent that in every way shape and form.
Going against the grain of a traditional car club there are only 2 rules to gain entry, #1, “don’t be an asshole,” #2, “your car needs to be low,” like air ride slammed low. Thats it…no dues, no monthly meetings, no voting your car in, just be a cool guy or girl with a low vehicle and go hang out with the club. While Nik was explaining how EVIL was formed, I could only reflect on the way my own personal cab club Nasty Kustomz started in the exact same fashion. As the younger generation of car guys are now starting to write the rules for the scene the more clubs and shows become more inclusionary and less exclusionary. Like the movie Step Brothers, after about the first 5 min of talking with Nik and Dave I felt like we were best friends.
Where Nik and the EVIL club shares similarities to traditional clubs are in community service and giving back. Every year they do a toy drive for Christmas and help out with various charities. The club realizes how fortunate they are to be able to cruise around art on wheels and enjoys giving back and bringing smiles to the faces of anyone they can help.
From VW buggies, to 7th Gent Malibus to a wild COE the EVIL Car Club sticks to their 2 rules and doesn’t discriminate when it comes to what vehicles they ride with. You can check out all of the rides on their instagram @evil_________ (that’s 9 underscores for those of you scoring at home) or on FB at EVIL Car and Truck Club or you can find them running around the PA, WV, Ohio and Canada area! Check out their charity work and toy drives and get involved with them, who knows you might be the next member of the EVIL Car Club…
